Its that time again! All the wintery weather lends time to start planning that wonderful spring garden and preparing your seed orders. Some of the most fun is planning all that produce! Need  help on what to plant? Just keep in mind the things you actually eat and dont overwhelm yourself with too large a garden space. We are planning out our own gardens this year and look forward to posting progress on our new greenhouse. If there is a variety of heirloom seeds you would like but do not see on our site, let us know and we may be able to help direct you to them.

Threshing wheat with our back to the land store thresher!

     We are very thankful and blessed for this video made by our friends. This machine can empower a family to thrash about a pound and a half of wheat per minute.  To clean this material whether it is wheat or any small grain, you can pour the seed and chaff into another bucket with the wind blowing and most of the chaff will blow away as the seed falls down into the bucket below.
     Here at the Back to the Land Store, we sell Scythes for hand cutting small grains and most of the horse or tractor drawn equipment to prepare, plant, and plow the fields.
